Don't you hate it when people into your personal life?

Anyway, I accompanied my mother out the other day for some errands. We went to this one oil change store. An elderly hispanic gentlemen, the owner, asked me some straightforward basic questions and I answered. He was trying to srike up a conversation with us which was fine. My family is Hispanic. He asked me a bit more personal questions but nothing obscene or anything. Anyway, when I get to know you more then maybe I don't mind answering the questions. I don't know; I just did not want to appear rude. Normally, I would just tell them that it is none of their business. Has anyone been in a situation like that?
