What's a good freeware music editor for writing guitar music?

I have authorized copies of several clical mcripts but they're difficult to read while I'm playing. I'd like to transcribe them. This isn't something I want to do a lot, so am more interested in a free or low cost notation editor that will handle the peculiarities of guitar music (one staff, lots of ledger lines, harmonics, string bubbles, and ).
